Here’s what we’ve been reading online lately:

The Gospel Coalition had a post on loneliness. In the midst of this pandemic, we all have experienced it to some level. The article reads, “If relationships were essential to Jesus, shouldn’t they be for us, too?” Fellowship is important to us all. In times like this, it’s more than ever.

Ministry Spark had two posts that are both well worth your time. First, there’s a post on inspiring a marathon mentality in volunteers. It reads, “The ones who stay with us for the long run—the marathon—have supports in place and a vision for what they have been called to do.” Sticky volunteers need both a clear vision and a strong support system.

Second, they had a post on re-opening both church and children’s ministry. The post asserts that it is important to do both simultaneously. While some churches will chose not to open children’s ministry right away, this quote is good to keep in mind, “With this reopening comes an opportunity to engage, lead, and love families in your church greater than ever before.” If not part or full children’s ministry, there are still opportunities to serve the families of the church.
