Here’s what we’ve been reading online lately:
Ministry Spark had a post on creating successful volunteers. The post lists principles that create vibrancy among volunteers. This is a little bit longer of a post but well worth your time. Are you volunteers serving because they have to or because they want to? Are they excited about it or just filling a hole in the schedule? This post will help create the right kind of environment for both volunteers and kids.
The Gospel Coalition had a post on teachability. This is a trait we desire to see in those we lead, as well as one we need ourselves. The post reads in part, “God wants his people to be teachable, in order that they may be wise. This isn’t hard to understand, but it’s extremely hard to live out.” It then lists 2 ways to grow in being teachable.
Matt Morgan had an important post on what policies belong in your training manual. This is an important post as well as an important topic. He lists his top 5 policies and procedures that every church needs to think through. This is a great starting point for ministries that don’t already have these training policies in place.
