Here’s what we found helpful online lately:
Desiring God had a post by Don Whitney on family worship. It’s essentially a distilling of his book on the subject. The post reminds parents, “Where there’s a desire for family worship — and some flexibility — there’s almost always a way.” As parents the responsibility is on us to supply the desire.
Mike McGarry had a post entitled “Preparing Students for Lifelong Faith”. The post concludes this way: “Ultimately, youth ministry isn’t about youth ministry at all. It’s about adults whose faith took root in their teen years. Keep this goal in mind. Fix your eyes on this long-term vision when teaching students, counseling parents, integrating students into the life of the church, and empowering students to serve.” Go read the whole post to see how he got there.
Dale Hudson had a post on the topic of children sharing their faith. It reads, “Equip children to share their faith and you will be blown away by what God does in them and through them.” This is a responsibility of every believer … regardless of age. This post will help prepare kids for the task.
