Here's what we've been reading online this week:
Home Front Magazine had a post on parental encouragement for middle school students (although I think this is true for all parents). The author says, "But it is truly our responsibility to not grow weary, to continue to ask, to invite them to share, and to create space so our middle school students can become more of who God has created them to be." Parenting is a task that beyond your ability. Parents, are you weary? Are you trying to parent in your own strength or are you relying on God to provide the strength and wisdom?
Greg Baird had post on pastoral expectations. He lists 5 things Kidmin leaders and pastors need to keep in mind. Pastors, this is a very helpful list to keep in mind. Check it out and start putting them in practice.
Steven Knight had a post on equipping parents. He says, "Most parents do not feel adequate enough to disciple their kids and most of this inadequacy comes from a lack of training." He goes on to list serval things pastors and leaders can do. Parents - don't be afraid to approach your pastors for help. Pastors - be ready to help with resources and communication.
