Prayer for Easter
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.”
Heavenly Father,
Please prepare my heart to worship you this Easter. The task list is forever long. It seems like in all the busyness of ministry the joy and true meaning of Easter will be lost altogether. Refocus my mind and restore to me the joy of my salvation. Help me to remember and rest in the work of Christ.
Please calm my heart. I am moving at an unsustainable pace in hopes the families who attend at Easter will have a great experience......especially the families who rarely or never attend a church. My intentions are good but I need to trust in the work you are doing in people's lives. Help me to rest in you.
Father lead people to you. Every good experience is a gift from you. May the children who come to church hear a clear presentation of the Easter story. May we lovingly and boldly proclaim why you had to come and die. We needed you to rescue us from sin and death. Help people leave Easter with more of Jesus than anything else.
Father, please prepare my church to serve others for your name's sake at Easter. For many people attending, this may be the one and only time they attend church during the year. Help all of us who are serving greet them with joy and care. Allow our visitors to get a glimpse of what Jesus looks like through the people of my church. Please stir the hearts of your people to volunteer.
Help me to remember the tomb is empty, you have risen and you sit at the right hand of the Father. May I live my life in a way that shows everyone that you have risen, enjoying Easter and glorifying you in all things.
