HAPPY THANKSGIVING! (or Black Friday, or Small Business Saturday, or Cyber Monday … which ever one or ones you happen to be celebrating).
Here’s what we’ve been reading online in the past week:
Greg Baird had a post on the hardships of Children’s ministry. After listing reasons for the difficulty he wrote, “All of this speaks to another, and perhaps the greatest, reason why Children’s Ministry is so difficult – because children & youth, in my opinion, remain one of the single greatest targets for the enemy.” He ends the post with some words of encouragement. If you are a pastor or ministry leader read this.
Scott Kedersha had a guest post on his blog by Sarah Fultz. It’s a marriage post on a topic that gets easily overlooked, kindness. The post defines the kindness this way: “To be clear, I am not referring to simple politeness (although manners have their place and are a way of showing respect), but rather taking the time and energy to choose actions, attitudes, and especially words which show that our spouse’s well-being is of the utmost importance. It’s a subtle art, and one that has been all but lost in today’s culture.” This post goes on to explain and break down why we don’t always show kindness and what to do about it. This read is well worth your time.
