In 2010, Christianity Today International conducted a survey of nearly 3,000 church leaders and members. According to the survey, 20% of leaders knew of at least one convicted sex offender who was attending or was a member of their church. 80% of the respondents agreed that that sex offenders who have legally paid for their crime should be welcomed into churches.
